Happy Lunchtimes at Chapelford Village Primary
Have you ever wondered what your child does at lunchtime?
Well look no further…
Lunchtime is a very valuable time of the children’s school day when all children get to explore their surroundings in physical, engaging activities. Activities are specifically designed to improve and encourage personal, social and emotional development amongst the children. Here at Chapelford, we are committed to ensuring that lunchtimes are positive, enjoyable and a fun filled part of the day.
We have marvellous midday assistants at Chapelford, who work extremely hard to plan exciting, engaging activities each day with the children in mind; ensuring that something is planned to suit and involve every individual. Some of these thrilling activities include:
- Chalking
- Dancing and disco moves to music
- Fitness activities (mountain climbers, squats, burpees and star jumps)
- Target practice
- Construction activity (straws and blocks)
- Team and individual skipping games
- Creating and racing paper aeroplanes
- Widgets
During lunchtimes, the children can earn pompoms for displaying positive relationships, demonstrating our school values and embedding our ethos that anyone can participate.
At the end of the week, the house with the most pompoms in each phase wins 50 house points. Not only this, but at the end of a half term midday's will be choosing one special person, from each class, who has been following our school policy and demonstrating the school values, will be sat on the table of awesomeness. This encourages children to become more positive at lunchtimes, as well as competing in physical activity – which they all love.
