Headteacher's Welcome

A very warm welcome to Chapelford Village Primary School website.
I have been Head teacher of this school for 10 years - 4 years here at Chapelford Village and 6 years at our previous home at Sycamore Lane Community Primary School and I love every minute of my role.
During the ten years the school has grown and changed dramatically, we have relocated and grown in size considerably.
I am extremely proud of our school, our staff and most importantly the children. I am also very proud of the relationship's we have built with our new community. Our school aim is rooted in the achievements of all of our pupils and staff.
In March 2013 our school was judged as 'good' in all areas and we are very proud of our outcome. However, in the last three years we have not been resting on our laurels - anything but!
At Chapelford Village we have been continually striving to improve the learning experiences, enjoyment and achievement's of our pupils during a period of rapid growth and change.
The continuing success of the school is due to the determination, hard work and ambition of the entire school community and the effective partnerships that we have developed that ensure the children always come first at Chapelford Village.
At Chapelford Village, we clearly recognise the importance of developing key basic skills and a life long love of learning. We aim to nurture, develop and celebrate the gifts and talents of every child in school. We do this by providing a clear and structured Learning Challenge Curriculum that embraces all styles of learning through engaging pupil interest.
Through our Learning Challenge questions children experience a broad, purposeful and exciting range of activities, that allow for application of basic skills. These experiences are enhanced further by a wide range of educational trips, residential visits and out of classroom learning opportunities.
The school is very proud to hold a variety of accreditations including the "Gold" Wise Up award which celebrates the work that the school undertakes to tackle bullying and hate crime.
Our new school building provides the children and staff with state of the art facilities that celebrate our passion for creativity and the arts. We continue to develop our extensive outdoor areas as the school matures and funding is raising.
The school website gives  you a "taster" of school life at Chapelford Village Primary School and reflects the value and quality of educational experiences that we provide.  However, I would urge you to come and visit the school (which at times may include a guided tour by our great ambassadors) to see the school in it's entirety. You will be assured of a warm welcome from all!
We look forward to meeting you.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs J Hewson
