School Council News

B&M Waste Solutions

In February, the School Council visited B&M Waste Solutions- our school’s waste provider. They discussed how we could reduce our waste as a school. This visit was the direct result of pupil feedback which was relayed via Year 5’s School Council rep to the School Council and then actioned. As a result of this trip, our school has managed to fine tune our recycling- further helping to reduce our carbon footprint.

Poppy Appeal

The School Council organised the sale of poppies and other merchandise to raise money for The Royal British Legion. School Councillors visited each class every day for 2 weeks, selling poppies to pupils and raising awareness of Armistice Day. Our fantastic school Council raised over £200 for the Royal British Legion.

Children in Need

In November 2019, the School Council ran an own clothes day to raise money for Children in Need. The school council voted on a 'Pudsey's spots' theme for the own clothes day. Pupils across both key stages took part and brought in a small donation to wear Pudsey's colours. School council's efforts raised an amazing £400 for Children in Need.

Presentation to Governors

In December 2019, the school council prepared a presentation on their successes so far and their aims for 2020. They presented this to the school's governors along with a detailed action plan of how they will achieve their aims. We were so proud of all school council members who prepared and delivered such a professional and passionate report.
