Mini First Aid: Developing Important Life Skills

At Chapelford Village Primary School, children take part in annual Mini First Aid training, ensuring they develop essential first-aid knowledge and practical skills as they progress through school.
Delivered by Mini First Aid Warrington, these sessions form an important part of our progressive curriculum, building children’s knowledge and confidence in responding to everyday accidents and emergencies. Through age-appropriate, hands-on activities, children learn how to deal with situations such as bumps and bruises, apply plasters, treat burns safely and understand the importance of calling for help. As they move through school, they develop their understanding of more advanced skills, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
First aid is an important life skill that empowers children to recognise when someone needs help, respond appropriately and understand how their actions can make a difference. By revisiting and building on their learning each year, we aim to equip our children with the knowledge, confidence and practical skills to help keep themselves and others safe.
