What is the Parent Forum?

The Parent Forum is a partnership between parents, governors and the school. It is a valuable way to share ideas, views, concerns and make suggestions for improvement.

The aims of the Parent Forum will be to:

  • work together to improve the education provided for our children
  • share information, knowledge and skills
  • meet in a mutually supportive environment
  • further improve communications between parent/carers and staff/governors

How often will the Parent Forum meet?

Every half-term for about an hour.

What will be discussed at the meetings?

Anything related to improving the school and further developing the partnership between the school and parents. The meetings are an opportunity for an open discussion. Minutes of the meetings will be taken and these will be accessible on the school’s website.

What will not be discussed at the meetings?

Concerns or complaints involving individual children, families or members of staff. These issues should be raised with the Class Teacher or Assistant Headteacher in a confidential meeting as outlined in our meeting with parents policy.

How can I raise an issue?

Ask your class representative to raise an issue or make a suggestion on your behalf or email us at: parentforum@chapelfordvillageprimary.co.uk

(please enter your Year Group and Class in the title of your message e.g. Year 4 Class 13).

Parent Forum Representative - Year 2

Hello, my name is Gaby. I am married and have 2 daughters, I work as a Police Officer in Manchester, a job that I love. I think it is a combination of my desire to help people coupled with having daughters who are currently at Chapelford in Year 2 and Year 5 which has prompted me to join the forum. Outside of work I love spending time with my family. My eldest daughter is keen to start running, so you may see us jogging together around Boston Boulevard when the weather is nice! The Forum is a great idea to help communication between Parents and the school, so If you see me around the playground, please come and have a chat. I am happy to raise any issues you may have.

Parent Forum Representative Year 4

Hi!, I’m your parent representative for all Year 4 children. I’m a motivated and passionate person who cares A LOT. I work full time as a Business Consultant, helping companies identify and deliver change, mostly in Banking and Retail. This often means managing lots of programmes of work, so I’m used to meetings and debates, and some might say I even enjoy them! Whilst I can be assertive when necessary, I’m mostly a soft hearted, caring, happy and (I hope) fun person to be around. My hobbies include learning to fly, seeking the elusive diet that lets me eat as much as I want and not have to exercise.....ever; and constantly trying to secretly rid our house of the growing toy population - then undoing all the hard work in a heartbeat by increasing it again. I look forward to speaking to you all!
